Because sustainable development and quality livelihoods cannot be achieved without social and environmental balance, SCBX subsidiary, SCB, pursues holistic social development which encompasses Youth Development and Education, Community Well-being and Disaster Relief, and Environmental Protection and Volunteer Culture.

Youth Development and Education

Since 2006, SCB has been committed to expanding learning opportunities, nurturing future generations, and empowering educators with the skills and knowledge needed for the 21st century. Our commitment is reflected in two flagship projects.



SCB Challenge, Year 20

SCB Challenge seeks to empower Thailand’s young generation through dynamic competitions tailored to different age groups. These activities focus on nurturing 4C skills (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication), while also instilling a spirit of volunteerism, ethical values, and social responsibility.

Skill-Enhancing Courses for Youth and Teachers

The course aims to nurture 4C learning skills (Critical Thinking, Creativity, Collaboration, and Communication) among the young generation alongside emotional intelligence and essential soft skills for work and daily life. Additionally, the program seeks to enhance teachers’ capabilities in effective classroom design. The project brings together a network of educational institutions and experts—including SCB Academy, SCB Foundation, the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (NECTEC), PTT Public Company Limited, and Chulalongkorn University—to deliver both on-site and online training sessions. Learning courses for teachers, educators, and anyone interested are available on the Khrudeegital Platform.

SCB-CONNEXTED: Leadership
for Sustainable Educational
Development

SCBX Group through SCB signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Education and 44 schools in Sisaket Province under the ‘Partnership School Project: One Amphoe, One Quality School.’ Building on the success of the CONNEXT ED program, this initiative seeks to develop SMART Schools that serve as model institutions to elevate educational quality in Thailand. SCBX Group envisions these schools as spaces for opportunity, where teachers and students alike are equipped with knowledge, skills, and ethical values to become powerful vigor of Thailand’s economic development.

Drawing on expertise from the Siam Commercial Foundation, SCB Academy, school partners (SP), and a broad network of education experts, the project aims to accelerate educational outcomes across all 44 schools in Sisaket Province. The project spans five years (2025-2029), commencing with the MOU signing on October 1, 2025. The Phase 1 roadmap for 2025 is outlined below.

Sustainable Water Resource Management

SCB recognizes the imperative of water resources in enriching the quality of life for communities. Therefore, the Bank has actively promoted awareness, readiness, and capability of the community in water resource management to ensure a consistent water supply for daily consumption, utilization, and agricultural use.

Sustainable Water Resource Management for Community

Building on the royal initiatives of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great in water resource management, the initiative seeks to develop water storage for consumption, utilization, and agriculture, thereby uplifting community well-being while mitigating challenges associated with droughts and flooding.

2025 Performance

Beneficiaries included 1,146 recipients from 241 households in 2 communities affected by floods and droughts Increased community water reserves by 106,000 cubic meters

Network of Community Disaster Alert – Friends in Need (of “PA”)

The initiative aims to build a community-based surveillance network, especially for floods and landslides, with two main operations involving: 1) Technology by encouraging communities to leverage technology systems and tools to enable timely disaster response; and 2) Restoration and land development by promoting community water resource management.

2025 Performance

Beneficiaries included 36,177 recipients in 9,042 households across 7 communities

Water for a Better Life Project

In collaboration with the Royal Thai Air Force, SCBX Group through SCB expands access to clean water for consumption and utilization in rural and remote communities. Since its launch in 2014, the initiative has contributed to long-term improvement in quality of life through the installation of water infrastructure, including two 2,000-liter water storage tanks, water filtration systems, solar-powered electricity generation systems, and supporting facilities for community waterworks.

  • ‘Providing Water for Better Living’ program delivered to 6 schools in 6 provinces, with a total beneficiary of 8,742 recipients in 2,137 households
  • ‘Sustainable Water Access’ program delivered to 6 districts in 3 provinces, with a total beneficiary of more than 7,336 recipients in 1,788 households

Community Well-Being

SCBX Group believes that good quality of life enables communities to create and effectively conduct businesses according to their roles as a cogwheel that drives society. Thus, SCB supports initiatives that provide living and occupation assistance to ensure that people have access to basic needs and a healthy environment to build a strong economy and independent communities.

Water Management in Thailand

Since water is crucial to the existence of all living beings, SCB, therefore, supports projects that have allowed communities access to quality water sources for consumption, utilization, and sustainable farming. The support also includes floods and droughts prevention measures, and skill development for jobs, which consequently help generate income and sustainable quality lifestyle.

Water for a Better Life Project

SCB collaborates with Royal Air Force Disaster Mitigation Center in the ‘Water for a Better Life Project’ to install solar cell panels for school water filtration and community water pumping systems to address the suffering of people in areas facing scarcity of clean water for consumption in 13 provinces as follows:

  • Northern region: Chiangmai
  • Eastern and Northeastern regions: Nakhon Ratchasima, Ubon Ratchathani, Udon Thani,Khon Kaen, Sa Kaeo
  • South region: Suratthani, Songkhla, Prachuap Khiri Khan
  • Central region: Nakhon Pathom, Lopburi, Phitsanulok, Nakhon Sawan

Network of Community Disaster Alert

SCB has cooperated with the Friends in Need (of “PA”) Volunteers Foundation, and Thai Red Cross, in order to implement the Network of Community Disaster Alert, the Friends in Need (of “PA”) to support surveillance management of water disasters that could occur to the community, and effectively prepare for the natural disaster in two aspects: technology and spatial development.

Environmental Protection and Volunteer Culture

For people to live a happy life in a healthy environment, SCB has launched and provided continuous support for environmental initiatives in conjunction with fostering environmental awareness and volunteer culture.

Our Khung BangKachao Project

Rooted in a strong belief in sustainable social and environmental development, SCB has been actively involved in the 5-year Our Khung BangKachao project (2018-2022). This project is a collaborative effort between the public sector, the private sector (34 organizations), and communities in Khung Bangkachao, Samut Prakan province, to protect and develop Khung Bangkachao which has been named the “best urban oasis” of Asia by the Times Asia magazine. This initiative has adopted the late King’s approach of “Understand, Engage, Develop” and his sufficiency economy philosophy to become the model of sustainable eco-management for urban areas.

SCB Blood Drive

As a key supporter of the Thai Red Cross, SCBX subsidiary, SCB, has been continuously organizing blood drives through providing supports for blood donation unit, blood drive events in cooperation with National Blood Center, and educational public relation works, in order to expand donators network to employees and the public.
