Over the past five years, FINNIX has helped more than 1.2 million low-income Thais escape predatory lending, disbursing over 46 billion baht in loans. The app has consistently maintained a low non-performing loan (NPL) rate in the single digits, demonstrating strong business growth and effective risk management. An in-depth analysis of FINNIX app user data over the past five years reveals valuable insights into underserved individuals, covering demographics, usage behavior, repayment patterns, and the positive outcomes of using the service. These findings are categorized into five key dimensions as follows:
- Customer Demographics: The majority are Gen Y (67%), with 64% being female. About 58% are freelancers or low-income employees with a second job, and 57% earn less than 20,000 baht per month. Over 60% of users live outside Bangkok, with the Northeast region showing the highest growth.
- Usage Behavior: Most loan applications occur on the 1st of the month, especially during lunchtime from 11:00 AM to 12:59 PM. Notably, around 50% of customers have remained loyal to FINNIX for nearly five years since their first day as customers, reflecting strong trust in the platform.
- Repayment Behavior: Around 70% of FINNIX users have good credit scores. Gen X users demonstrate the highest repayment discipline, and provinces with strong financial behavior include Phuket, Chonburi, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Samut Prakarn, and Pathum Thani. Moreover, new customers tend to show better financial behavior than existing ones, highlighting the effectiveness of FINNIX’s AI-powered credit underwriting model.
- Financial Potential: More than 40% of users have received credit limit increases thanks to good financial behavior, with 20% of them received limits twice as high as their original amount. This reflects a significant improvement in their ability to build and maintain strong credit profiles. Additionally, customers have actively redeemed FINNIX Coins—earned through timely loan repayments—for interest discounts, with total redemptions exceeding 8.3 million baht. This not only helps reduce financial burdens but also encourages responsible financial habits.
- Income and Financial Literacy Enhancement: Over 157,000 users have had opportunities to earn extra income through job opportunities offered by FINNIX’s partners via the app, while more than 62,000 users have improved their financial knowledge through the online learning program “Money Wise, Happy Life.” These initiatives affirm that FINNIX is more than just a loan app—it truly helps underserved people achieve financial wellness and happiness.
